Dust mites are one of the major allergen sources found in a home. In fact, the presence of dust mites can worsen allergies and asthma.

The National Survey of Lead and Allergens in Housing done by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development found that 35% of homes had enough allergens to trigger an asthma attack.
